While we have no doubt in Ram Gopal Verma’s ability to produce great films, having seen Bhoot few years back we thought it was more sound than the substance that made the effect. Probably that’s why it did not do that well. With Phoonk, we hope it can bring the same MAGIC (not black magic please) as we see in Hollywood like Exorcists and Omen.
- Yet another horror (rather scary) movie by Ram Gopal Verma, which is based on Black Magic. There was a buzz in the industry that Ram Gopal Verma even announced if anyone can watch this movie alone, he might get RS. 5 Lacs (Indian Rupees 500,000). However in one of the interviews with a news channel, he said there are lots of factor that decide it all you watched the whole movie alone. Not going into that debate (we think that was a part of marketing campaign), the story revolves around Rajeev played by Sudeep, who is a successful construction engineer and happily married with 2 children. He is an atheist and does not believe in the existence of God and also does not believe there can be evil forces which can destroy human life. Then one day… that’s where the scary part begins.
